One of the more famous nebulae in the night sky is that of the Orion Nebula. This image shows M42, M43, and faintly in the lower right hand corner NGC 1977.

I am not too incredible happy with this image. After taking the pictures off the camera I realized that my polar alignment was off by just a bit. So in the full sized (downloadable) image you can see small star trails.

This image is a combination of 9x54sec images processed with RegiStax and then tweaked in Photoshop.

Telescope: 9.25" Schemidt-Cassegrain OTA and a Vixen 102SS ED f/6.5

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
